I can't believe the last time I posted here was in 2015.

tbh I was seriously tempted to hold off on posting until November to make it an even 2 years.

Ah, well!

Cloud Strife, what on Earth are you doing in Smash Bros.??

I'm pretty bummed to hear about Satoru Iwata's passing. I heard he was ill before, but didn't know it was that bad. I was shocked when I read about it. I loved seeing him in Nintendo Directs and reading Iwata Asks. He seemed like someone you could have a laugh with.

Leaving this with a GameCenter CX vid, since Arino has been retweeting all kinds of Iwata-related things on his Twitter. This episode is a fun watch. c:

I can't believe they're gonna go for it.

My favorite reaction video so far. (Slight volume warning.) Gotta love the guy on the far right with the chair.

I have a RL friend who does the texting equivalent of "[Character] is standing there, come talk to him!" tags and it's starting to really bug me.

Like, he'll text: "There's a game for the Vita."

And I'm expected to respond — which is fine, that's how conversations work, but I mean. He doesn't even give straight answers after that. I have to drag it out of him.

Him: "There's a game for the Vita."
Me: "What is it?"
Him: "An RPG."
Me: "What's it called?"
Him: "Title Fantasy: The RPG."
Me: "Sounds cool."
Him: "It doesn't look that good though."
Me: "Oh, that's too bad."
Him: "But it's for the Vita."

And at this point, I'm like... get to your point, dude. Why do I have to pull responses from you when you're the one who wanted to talk about it in the first place? Why couldn't you have just said the name of the game and your impression of it right off the bat so we could just go from there? Why are we circling the topic instead of diving right into it?

He just sent me another 'bait' text and I'm currently letting it sit there to see if he's gonna follow it up or if he expects me to draaaaag it out of him again. I realize this is petty as hell, but it's been happening so often lately and I'm too irritated to bother with it right now.

I was browsing through a friend's Facebook album and saw a picture of him with someone. At first glance, I thought it was his mom.

Turns out, it's his current girlfriend. Whoops.

Just another one of those mistakes that make you think, "Thank goodness no one else is here and can read my mind."

Also, still looking for topics to talk about for the meme! Even if you've suggested something already, go ahead and suggest another!

SO I GUESS there's some kind of December meme going around that's supposed to encourage use of your DW journal. (Hence why I was trying to spruce this thing up a bit, lol.) It sounds interesting, and I'd like to use my DW more, so I want to give it a shot. I'm a little late to doing it in December, so I'm just gonna start it... I dunno, maybe in the last week of the month? Sooner? Depends on how many topics I get.

Anyway, the instructions are as follows:

Pick a day and give me something to talk about! Video games, computer games, uh... cellphone games, board games, DWRP games, pixel dragon games... or something other than games. Animals, writing, food, terrible life advice, etc. are all fair game. Anything. Whatever you can think of, I'll post about it.

And feel free to claim more than one day! (I don't think I know enough people to do a one-day-per-person thing anyway, ahah.) Any blank spaces will probably just be me babbling about Guilty Gear or something, so please give me something else to talk about.

...unless you want me to talk about Guilty Gear. Then we're good, lol.

I decided to dig up my DW and revamp it for kicks, but it involved me going back and fixing the broken icons on the most recent two pages.

Those entries spanned about, what, maybe one or two years? It's not like I was super young or anything, but I still feel a bit of a gut punch when reading them. Or at least a wince. Something like that.

Also, I have no idea what is going on with these tags. They are out of control.

Goddamn, I love green bean casserole.

Happy Thanksgiving to those in the States. Happy November to everyone else. I hope everyone is enjoying their day.

...is apparently a real thing? I'm kinda surprised.

Not much data on it other than achievements, a cash shop, and cloud saves. I am very curious what the achievements are, the cash shop seems kinda useless to me, and cloud saves just makes me LOL for stupid, stupid reasons.

I do wish we could get info on whether the translation is redone/straightened out for this version. I'd buy it just for that, honestly. (FFT's new translation was so worth re-purchasing. I have no regrets.) If it's not fixed, then... eh. I'm not sure.

Macaroni & cheese will never not be a go-to food when I'm stumped on ideas for meals.

GOG.com

I'm super glad GOG.com exists, seriously. I've heard of a lot of these games, but never played them as a child because our family was more console-oriented. (I was probably too young to play anything other than Lemmings or Dr. Brain games anyway.) I like having the chance to play these games and check out what people are talking about. I just nabbed the Wing Commander series to give it a shot. Also Mark Hamill is in the games too, and I wanna see that.

I'm thinking about trying to get more recent games on GOG too. I don't know if anyone else has the same problem, but Steam can really clog up my computer sometimes. I don't have a gaming optimized laptop, so just opening Steam can be a trial for me. Games that are DRM free are such a turn on.

I really should be reformatting my hard drive, but I'm hesitant. My laptop originally came with Windows Vista installed, but I received a free upgrade to Windows 7 and used that. I don't know where I put the upgrade disk anymore, though. I'm afraid of reformatting and ending up with Vista again. That would really, really suck.

I'll have to go hunting for it again sometime.

I don't usually post things like this, so pardon me in advance for that. I really liked the message behind this video, however.

WARNING: Surgery scars. She warns ahead of time, though. I do recommend at least minimizing the video and listening to the audio as an alternative.

There's another interesting documentary recently released on the topic. I'd like to see this one.

I was watching a show with my mom, and heard some howling from audience members who were cheering.

My immediate thought was, "Armaros! ;A; "

And then I was distracted from the show.

I hope everyone had a good New Year Day!

I don't really have any New Year's resolutions or anything, but I do need to write or draw more things this year. I'm getting really out of practice. :T

I ended up spending quite a bit of money on the Steam Christmas sale, but the game I'm looking forward to playing is Darksiders. It looks pretty fun, it's another one of those games that uses Biblical characters and whatever. I hope it plays well enough on my laptop.

The one game that took me by surprise this sale was The Binding of Isaac. I've played Super Meat Boy and didn't like it so much, probably because it's ridiculously challenging. But Isaac is a lot more fun to play, even though it's still stupidly difficult. I just like experimenting with all the pills and stuff.

I also finally got LIMBO. That game is super atmospheric, wow. Kinda freaky, too. (THE SPIDER. THE BRAIN BUGS.) The design style just adds to the whole thing. Love it.

My goal is to finish these games, damn it. I need to stop starting games and leaving them hanging. I'm pretty sure the last game I finished was El Shaddai. 8|a

MY DOG IS AFRAID OF BATMAN.

We started up Arkham City and she froze up once she heard the bass. Then, when Batman appears and flares out his cape, she ran hiding behind the couch.

IT IS SO CUTE she's giving me this wide-eyed look right now. Like she's saying, "Why are you laughing? Make it go away!!"

Ah, my day has been made.
